WCD is glad to inform you that more than 250 Scholarships have been assigned, entitling those applicants to a complimentary registration and to a 5 night hotel accommodation (& travel in selected cases) .

Requirements for Scholarship Applicants:

• Applicants must participate as the presenting author in at least one World Congress scientific activity such an oral communication and/or a poster presentation. Abstracts for oral/poster presentations must be submitted online by 29 October, 2018
• All scholarship applicants who are trainees must submit verification of their educational status, such as a letter from the Department Head or Program Director
• Attendance at the World Congress must not also be supported by industry. (The committee reserves the right to rescind scholarships to awardees whose abstracts and/or attendance were supported by industry).

Definition of Scholarship types

WCD Trainee Scholarship

• An applicant who is in training in dermatology as a resident or fellow at the time of the World Congress, June 2019 (medical students are not eligible for scholarships).
  Please attach a letter from the Department Head or Program Director.

WCD Rising Star Scholarship

• A dermatologist under the age of 40 at the time of the World Congress (10 June, 2019) and not at the rank of Full Professor.
  Please attach a copy of your passport.

WCD Dermatologist Scholarship

• Certified dermatologists residing in one of the countries defined by the World Bank as Low income or Lower-Middle income.
  Please attach a copy of your passport.

Criteria for Scholarship Award

Scholarships will be awarded based on merit and need. All abstracts will first be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Those ranking highest will then scrutinized for need.
Consideration will be given to ensure geographic parity for each ILDS Region when awarding the Scholarships.

The criteria for Scholarships awarded will be:

1. Low Income Countries + Trainee
2. Low Income + Rising Star
3. Low Income
4. Trainee
5. Rising Star

Scholarship submission deadline – 29 October, 2018

Applicants notified of awarding scholarship will be requested to decline or accept by a defined deadline.
Rejected scholarships will have the opportunity to be reassigned.
